Emirates announced passengers can now pay for access to its lounges at Dubai International Airport. Entry-level Skywards Blue members can pay $100 for four-hour access to Emirates’ business-class facilities or $200 to enter first-class lounges.

Gold and silver members who already receive complimentary access to Emirates’ business-class lounges can upgrade to the first-class facilities for $100. Guests traveling with gold or silver members, regardless of class of travel, can also receive access to the lounge for an additional charge. This offer applies only to the carrier’s lounges at DXB. Passengers must be traveling on an Emirates flight or Qantas codeshare service to be eligible.

“Emirates can confirm that it has introduced pay-per-visit access to its lounges at Dubai International Airport,” said an airline spokesperson. “This has been implemented in response to increasing demand from our valued customers for guest access to our lounges.”

Emirates recently completed an $11 million renovation of its lounge at Concourse B of the airport, focusing on three new concept areas: a barista experience in partnership with Costa Coffee; a health hub with Voss water, including healthier options; and an exclusive Moët and Chandon Champagne lounge.

Access is subject to capacity restrictions. Payment can be made by credit or debit card — cash or the redemption of miles will not be valid.
