El Caminante Bar & Bungalows will bring an elegant Spanish-style twist to the beachy Orange County roadside hotel/restaurant when it opens its doors in Capistrano Beach near Dana Point this spring. Each of the hotel’s 30 ocean-view bungalows is beautifully designed with details like original Spanish tiles, handpicked linens and modern amenities illuminating the classic Southern California beach getaway.

With a focus on creating an immersive experience, El Caminante Bar & Bungalows aims to provide guests with a retreat blending sophistication and comfort seamlessly. Each of the bungalows is outfitted with a record player, accompanied by curated selections of albums and access to a vinyl library spanning various genres in the lobby. Minibars in all rooms feature a rotating selection of small-brand, high-end spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. Other features include refrigerators, flat-screen televisions, complimentary WiFi and pillowtop beds with premium bedding.

Features in the public areas include a refreshing lounging water fountain with lounge seating, oceanfront fire pits, electric bike rentals, yoga classes and sound healing, and artisanal pizza served from a vintage Airstream. In-room or Capistrano beach-side spa services, as well as a private reiki session, sound bath or guided meditation with the property’s spiritualist can also be booked during the stay.

El Caminante also offers a limited number of California State Park passes, providing guests with access to local beaches and state parks during a stay. San Clemente, Laguna Beach and Dana Point (including attractions like Dana Point Harbor, Ocean Institute, Salt Creek Beach and the Lantern District) are minutes by car from the hotel, along with activities such as stand-up paddleboarding at Doheny Beach, leisurely bike rides, hiking and whale watching.

El Caminante Bar, meanwhile, endeavors to not only be an amenity for guests, but also a fun and casually stylish hangout for locals and visitors craving flavors and ingredients suited to the Southern California beach lifestyle. At daybreak, light breakfast fare includes acai bowls, avocado toast, fresh pastries, espresso drinks and more. By night, one can cap off a day’s adventures with handcrafted cocktails and small plates at the fashionable lobby bar or on the oceanfront patio or sun deck.

High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture

It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.

When searching for a place to stay in Barcelona, I was picky. I wanted a well-situated hotel to access all the city has to offer and to serve as a respite from the hustle and bustle of the Spanish hot spot. My search led me to InterContinental Barcelona.

Why Japan Is Best Explored by Sea with Princess

Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons —  feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.
