One of the world’s most renowned one-stop shopping venues, Dubai Duty Free raked in sales totaling in excess of $1.9 billion in 2014. That’s a 7.3 percent increase over 2013.
While 2014 was strong overall, Dubai Duty Free’s 31st anniversary celebration in December ended the year on high note driven by a 25 percent across-the-board discount promotion on a wide range of merchandise for purchases Dec. 18–20, ringing in sales of $51.4 million in a 72-hour window.
“We are thrilled to announce such a positive year during which the operation went from strength to strength,” said Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman, Dubai Duty Free. “I thank … our great team of staff, our suppliers and, of course, our customers who are fundamental to our continued growth.”
Looking ahead, Dubai Duty Free will continue its ongoing refurbishment of Concourse C and looks toward the opening of a 75,000-square-foot retail space in Concourse D.
