In celebration of what would have been Elizabeth Taylor’s 90th birthday, Dorchester Collection and House of Taylor announced a new partnership in her honor. Taylor was a loyal visitor to The Dorchester, London and The Beverly Hills Hotel, both legendary Dorchester Collection hotels.

To commemorate Taylor’s work as an actress, businesswoman and HIV/AIDS activist, two of the brand’s most beloved suites were renamed in her honor: Elizabeth Taylor Harlequin Suite at The Dorchester and Elizabeth Taylor Bungalow 5 at The Beverly Hills Hotel.
“Steeped in history, Dorchester Collection celebrates timeless stories and unforgettable moments between its remarkable properties and the people who inhabit them. We are delighted to honor our loyal guest, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, and her legacy as a Hollywood superstar and HIV/AIDS activist by announcing this partnership with House of Taylor. Our legendary hotels are a ‘home away from home’ for people who make the world turn and we are proud that Elizabeth Taylor’s spirit lives on in the suites named in her honor,” said Helen Smith, chief customer experience officer, Dorchester Collection.

Taylor first stayed at The Dorchester at 17 years old, returning many times throughout her life. The hotel was her and Richard Burton’s home away from home in London, and in the suite’s iconic pink marble bathroom, she negotiated her Cleopatra deal, becoming the first actor to receive more than $1 million for a single role.
As known for her acting as she was her eight marriages, the famed Bungalows at The Beverly Hills Hotel were Taylor’s preferred honeymoon destination. On her splurge days, she enjoyed the fried chicken with mashed potato and gravy at on-site Polo Lounge, a dish still served today.
“We are pleased to enter into this official partnership with Dorchester Collection, naming two of Elizabeth’s favorite suites after her. The team there has demonstrated a passion for Elizabeth Taylor and her legacy and have shown a strong commitment to honoring her history at the hotels. We are thrilled to know that guests of The Dorchester and The Beverly Hills Hotel will get to experience part of Elizabeth’s world and luxuriate in the same suites that Elizabeth loved,” said House of Taylor.
