Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve announced its first-ever Las Verbenas Food and Wine Festival, slated for Dec. 3–4. The two-day event will be led by executive chef Jose “Chelo” Ballester. The festival offers one-of-a-kind culinary experiences honoring Puerto Rico’s culture and cuisine.
The event hosts an array of local and guest chefs, demonstrating their culinary talents. The festival begins with a chocolate and Champagne reception, complete with chocolate-inspired sweet and savory dishes, a Champagne welcome toast, live music, food stations and a photo booth. Day two features a “Fiesta de Pueblo” celebration of Puerto Rican culture. Guests may enjoy a wide variety of food stations alongside live music from local bands. Take part in the Rum Hour, with special spirit tastings.

“We took inspiration from Puerto Rican ‘verbenas,’ or traditional festivities held across small local communities on the island, when creating this idea. Our hope is to provide a fun yet sophisticated sensory exploration of our local culture while creating memories and nurturing their palates. Set ahead of the celebration season, the festival promises to be the perfect way to kickstart this incredible time of year,” said Jose “Chelo” Ballester.
Available for locals and guests, tickets for the full two-day event cost $695. The price does not include hotel accommodations.
