Celebrating their new cookbook, Burma Cookbook: Recipes from the Land of a Million Pagodas (River Books Press, 2014) author-food stylist Robert Carmack and textile pro Morrison Polkinghorne of Globetrotting Gourmet are hosting Revolutionary Cuisine & Culinary Revelry, an exploration of northern Vietnam’s hidden food treasures, Dec. 29–Jan. 5 with optional pre- and post-tour jaunts to Ha Long Bay. Along the way, meet celebrity chef Didier Corlou of La Verticale and Madame Hiên, and author Tracey Lister, whose books with Andreas Pohi include Koto (Hardie Grant Book, 2009) and Vietnamese Street Food (Hardie Grant Books, 2013).

The tour includes a cruise along the Red River Delta, excursions to explore the village artisan and craft markets of North Vietnam, and a Pho noodle soup crawl via pedicab through Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
