Delta Air Lines plans to replace LaGuardia’s (LGA) Terminals C and D. The project, a joint effort with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, is part of a new lease agreement through 2050. The Port Authority signed on to contribute $600 million to the project. “Today marks another proud moment in Delta’s ongoing commitment to providing an exceptional experience for New Yorkers. Our participation in this historic project builds on the more than $2 billion Delta has invested in New York over the past seven years,” said Ed Bastian, CEO, Delta Air Lines. The new Delta terminal is located closer to Grand Central Parkway, creating additional taxiway space. It offers 37 gates, four concourses and a centralized check-in area, security checkpoint and baggage claim. It includes 30 percent more concessions space, direct access to parking and improved ground transportation areas. A new Delta Sky Club with Sky Deck is in the works as well. Construction on the new, more sustainable and energy-efficient terminal is scheduled to begin as quickly as possible.
