In partnership with Aeromexico, Delta Air Lines announced a daily, non-stop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Mexico City (MEX).

The flight, launching Dec. 1, will connect Delta’s Los Angeles hub to Aeromexico’s Mexico City hub, complementing Aeromexico’s existing schedule between the cities.

The flight is an important addition for Delta in Los Angeles, marking the airline’s return to the LA–Mexico City market for the first time since 2005 and furthering strengthening the relationship between the two airlines.

In May, the airlines announced the launch of five new non-stop flights by the end of 2017 — Atlanta (ATL) to Merida (MID) and Queretaro (QRO); Los Angles to Leon (BJX); and Seattle (SEA) and Portland (PDX) to Mexico City.

“L.A. is the No. 1 U.S. market to Mexico, and together Delta and Aeromexico offer the absolute best schedule between our hub at LAX and Aeromexico’s hub in Mexico City with 7 daily flights,” said Ranjan Goswami, vice president of sales, west region, Delta. “Our combined schedule gives customers access to more choices and 20 destinations beyond L.A., and our recent relocation to Terminals 2 and 3 makes it more convenient than ever for customers to connect to those destinations from LAX.”

The new flight will be operated using an Airbus A319, featuring new seats throughout the cabin with adjustable headrests, in-flight entertainment screens, in-seat power, large overhead bins and new lavatories.

Flights will depart Los Angeles daily at 9:30 a.m. and arrive in Mexico City at 3:10 p.m. On the return, flights will depart Mexico City at 4:30 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 7:00 p.m.
