Copa Airlines, Panama’s national carrier, is adding three new routes in 2014 with flights from Panama City (PTY) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Montreal (YUL) and Georgetown, Guyana (GEO).
Montreal flights commence June 3 with service to Fort Lauderdale and Georgetown following on July 11. The new routes strengthen Copa’s position in regional air travel and enhance its position as a gateway hub to Latin America.
“Our sustained growth in recent years has allowed us to reinforce our leadership in the region and to continue the hub of the Americas’ position as the most successful and efficient hub for travel to and from, as well as within, Latin America,” said Pedro Heilbron, CEO, Copa. “Our success has benefited Latin America and has stimulated business and the creation of new jobs and investment in Panama.”
The airline will also see a 10 percent increase in seating capacity in 2014 with the addition of eight new Boeing 737-800 aircraft in 2014, bringing its total fleet to 98.
