Head to Italy’s Chianti region and relax into fall with a selection of Harvest Experiences offered at COMO Castello del Nero. Located within easy driving distance from Florence and Siena, the 740-acre estate includes a 12^th-century castle replete with an ancient wine cellar; Renaissance-era frescoes; modern, Michelin-starred dining; and luxury interiors designed by Paola Navone.

Until Nov. 13, enjoy Green Gold: Harvesting Olive Oil. Not only will you learn about the different varieties and tasting profiles of olive oils (including the green, spicy notes of Chianti’s olives), you’ll also learn firsthand each of the stages involved in the production of extra virgin olive oil prepared from your own assigned olive tree. While the oil is bottled, take part in a guided tasting session.

This experience includes a hosted trek around the estate, an opportunity to harvest oil from an olive tree, an Italian vineyard picnic complete with wine and views of the gorgeous Tuscan landscape (to be replaced by a three-course lunch at Pavilion Restaurant should the weather not be conducive to an outdoor setting), an hour-long oil-tasting session and four bottles of olive oil to bring home.

Also on deck at the estate is the Truffle Hunting Experience, led by a professional truffle hunter and his Lagotto Romagnolo dogs, who lead you to the estate’s very own black truffles — including winter, hooked and summer truffles. Following the hunt, return to the hotel for a four-course lunch or dinner prepared by Executive Chef Giovanni Luca Di Pirro, with a menu featuring these specialty mushrooms. The meal will, naturally, be accompanied by a selection of special regional wines.
