China Airlines and Southwest Airlines are expanding to another gateway in North America, Phoenix (PHX), Arizona, for a total of five U.S. West Coast hubs, which also include Los Angeles (LAX), Ontario (ONT), San Francisco (SFO) and Seattle (SEA). China Airlines will begin service to Taipei (TPE) from Phoenix Dec. 3, operating three times weekly on an Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Passengers arriving from Asia can seamlessly connect to more than 30 destinations from Arizona with China Airlines and Southwest.

China Airlines continues to expand across North America while staying committed to delivering the warmth and comfort of Taiwan onboard. China Airlines will enhance the in-flight dining experience by serving Hsu’s American Ginseng’s (a brand deeply rooted in the North American Chinese market for more than 50 years) Ginseng Chicken Noodle Soup to passengers departing from Los Angeles, Ontario and Phoenix in premium business class. The meal is paired with a European-style Ginseng and Goji Berry Bread and a fruity Ginseng Guava Mousse Cake. A variety of pre-order meals are also available for passengers to select online, 24 hours in advance of departure, with options including Taiwanese pork chop over rice, Dong Po Pork and Abalone served with steamed rice, and stir-fried Maine lobster with ginger and scallions with egg-fried rice.

To celebrate the launch of its Phoenix–Taipei direct flight, China Airlines offers an online travel discount with five Asian tourism bureaus from Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. Through Sept. 7, travelers booking for two or more passengers can enjoy $150 off round-trip flights to Asia, with fares starting as low as $682.
