Grand Hyatt Changsha, the first Grand Hyatt hotel in China’s Hunan Province, celebrated its grand opening last week.

The 354-room hotel crowns a 61-story tower on Xiangjiang Road, offering views of the Xiang River and the city skyline.

From the moment guests arrive in the beautiful lobby, they’re introduced to Changsha’s natural beauty and rich culture. The hotel’s design concept is inspired by two classic Chinese paintings: Changsha by Fu Baoshi and Ten Thousand Hills in Red by Li Keran. Shades of bold red are implemented, and the flow and energy of the Xiang River inspire artwork, sculptures and furniture throughout.

The hotel is home to five restaurants and bars including Xiangjiang 36, which boasts local favorites like Peking duck and other Hunan classics. Guests can enjoy a drink at CASA Grande, a social lounge featuring a mezzanine cocktail bar and outdoor garden with live music and authentic Italian delicacies. Grand Café showcases gourmet meals designed around the concept of culinary theatre, and The Lounge is an elegant spot where travelers and locals can relax, dine and work.

The riverfront hotel, located in the vibrant Tianxin district, is just steps from Changsha’s most historic sites. Guests can experience the city’s unique history, architecture and food at Pozi Street and Taiping Old Street or enjoy shopping at Hisense Plaza. The hotel is also conveniently located only 45 minutes from Huanghua International Airport and Changsha South high-speed railway station.
