Cathay Pacific announced the opening of The Bridge, the carrier’s sixth passenger lounge at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). Located on Level 5 of the West Concourse near Gate 35, the lounge features more than 27,000 square feet of space and is open to first- and business-class passengers and members of the airline’s Marco Polo Club frequent-flyer loyalty program who have Silver, Gold or Diamond status. The Bridge features two wings extending from a central reception area. The north wing includes a bar, television lounge, general seating area and a bakery that offers freshly baked bread, pizzas, sandwiches, pastries, Asian and Westerns soups and fresh salads. The south wing features nine shower suites and a self-service area with a variety of high-quality Asian and Western hot dishes and cold food selections. “Cathay Pacific is committed to offering our passengers the best lounges in the world. We have come a long way since we opened our first lounge, The Wing, in 1998. We introduced The Pier in 2001, The Arrival in 2008, and The Cabin in 2010. Together with Dragonair’s G16 lounge, and with the opening of The Bridge, the Cathay Pacific Group now operates a total of six lounges at the Hong Kong International Airport,” said Ivan Chu, COO of Cathay.
