Carlson Rezidor announced last month a pilot program for on-site bike rental stations at select Radisson Blu and Radisson properties. “Carlson Rezidor is committed to identifying services and amenities that enhance the experience for our guests and we are pleased to add on-site bike rentals to our offerings. We understand that over the past few years, the popularity of bike transportation has sky rocketed. Consumers have a growing need for more exercise, especially when they travel and want to contribute to a greener environment; bikes provide that and in many cases an easier and certainly more cost effective form of transportation,” said Javier Rosenberg, COO, Americas, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. Spinway, a bike rental station management company, provides the bikes. Spinway bikes, designed by Avanti, are created with comfort and ease of use in mind, and feature puncture-proof tires, a chain protector, enclosed gears and brakes, internal cabling, an adjustable seat and a custom carrier. The rental stations have between 4 and 32 bikes, which are rentable via an electronic credit card processing unit. Participating properties within the pilot program include Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago; Radisson Blu Minneapolis, Downtown; Radisson Hotel Duluth-Harborview; Radisson Hotel Los Angeles Midtown at USC; Radisson Resort at the Port; Radisson Hotel Portland Airport; and Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside.
