Stone Brewing, the 10^th-largest craft brewery in the United States, announces a new San Diego property. Stone Hotel opens its doors early 2018, located on 13 acres next to Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens. The hotel design features brewery-themed motifs and the brand’s gargoyle mascot throughout. Guests can order beers at nearly any moment of the day, and three bars offer special-release brews. Amenities include welcome beers upon check-in and in-room growler delivery. Greg Koch and Steve Wagner, Stone Brewing cofounders since 1996, created the concept. The project is a joint venture with Robert Cartwright, CEO, Untitled Hospitality. “After originally envisioning a hotel on the property more than six years ago, we had put the project on permanent hold due to our need to focus on our core obsession of brewing,” said Koch. “When Robert and Untitled Hospitality approached us with the idea of them taking the ball and running with it, we found a partner who was fully engaged in the idea of executing on the Stone ideals, ethos and creativity. Years of thought have gone into the development of Stone Hotel and it will be reflected throughout every corner of the place.” The $26 million, 100,000-square-foot property includes oversized guestrooms, a bar-style lobby, energy-efficient features, custom furniture, a ballroom and rooftop garden. Guests receive access to an expansive fitness center, walking trails and priority seating at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens in Escondido.
