Frequent travelers, and just about anyone with a modicum of common sense, know by now it’s a bad idea to joke about a bomb in an airport. That logic escaped a female passenger earlier this week, who quipped, “So did you find the bomb?” as her carry-on bagged passed through the X-ray machine at Frankfurt Airport.

The joke “bombed” (pun intended) and security personnel quickly detained the woman who was subjected to search and interrogation, and barred from boarding her scheduled flight.

The moral of the story? Remove your shoes, place your laptop in a separate bin, empty your pockets — and keep your mouth shut.
