The annual Global Traveler Leukemia and Lymphoma Society auction is up and running strong. This is a wonderful opportunity to get some great deals in worldwide travel and at the same time help a very worthy cause. GT has worked with a lot of charities over the years, and LLS seems to have the type of goals which best emulate GT. We can cure blood cancers; help us and LLS! I will take one of my around-the-world trips in a couple weeks, traveling to Seoul, China, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and back. I will travel via a combination of the award-winning Asiana (GT’s Airline of the Year) and Etihad Airways. This will be my first flight on Etihad, and I am looking forward to sampling its onboard chef’s cuisine in first class. I can’t tell you how many times I have flown Asiana, but it will be the first time since they were named Airline of the Year this past December. This trip comes off of my trips to India, Northern Ireland (playing golf at Lough Erne) and Myrtle Beach — expect a great deal of interesting reports in coming issues of GT! — Fran Gallagher, publisher and CEO
