On a rainy day in New York this week, I attended a Marriott Rewards event announcing the company’s newest endeavor, a merged loyalty program — with a name still to come.
The new-and-improved loyalty program brings all three brands — The Ritz Carlton Rewards, Marriott Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest — under one umbrella, offering members more opportunity to collect points.
Beginning in August, changes include ways to save with 29 brands in 127 countries in 6,500 hotels. Members receive access to a swath of brands and services including no blackout dates, unique and personal touches during their stays and improved services like one account and one membership number to simplify the process.
One aspect of the program, the Moments Platform, expands, with greater opportunities for guests to attend once-in-a-lifetime concerts, private shows, sporting events and incredible tours and experiences. The loyalty program includes 110 million members and counting.
