Has anyone watched the show Flying Wild Alaska?  I have a hankering to go north and see what it’s like up there.  These people really have to deal with some adverse weather and harsh conditions. The Tweedo family runs an airline (ERA Alaska) and airport in the frozen tundra. They run their work in difficult conditions, transporting local Alaskans from one small town to the other and rescuing stuck adventurers/hikers/hunters and fishermen.  They live in Unalakleet (pronounced Unacleet), which has no transAlaskan road to connect it with the rest of the state. Jim Tweedo runs his operation with the help of his family, wife and youngest daughter.  The daughter (Ariel) could have her own program herself with her exploits in Alaska . . . the mother is a real go-getter and worker! This would be a great Adventure Add-on article for Global Traveler. I think it would make for an interesting “road trip” for me and my pals. Now the question is, what would we do up there?  Fish?  I don’t think there are any golf courses!
