I’m looking at the clock and it’s 1:16 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, as I write this post.  I am definitely my most productive during the odd hours of the day. Probably because no one in my time zone is crazy enough to be up working at this hour and creating alternative distractions. However, being fortunate enough to conduct business on a global scale, there is always someone awake to talk to if I so desire. Already this morning I have touched base with colleagues in South Korea and Dubai — all who quickly sent their responses to my inquiries.  However, my last email was sent to colleagues in Tokyo. Not about business, but a simple note to let them know our thoughts and hearts are still with them during this trying time. In the past week we have witnessed a natural disaster no one could have imagined, and the United States finds itself in another war. Maybe I stay up so late to make sure I don’t wake up to any more surprises from around the world. Regardless, the element of time has always been one of fascination. I hope time works in our favor for those who are in need in the wake of this last natural disaster and many other disasters such as the earthquakes in Chile and Haiti and war-torn areas of the world.
