This past weekend I decided to take advantage of the warm spring weather and visit Princeton. My boyfriend and I drove into town early in the afternoon. Apparently everyone else had the same idea — parking was scarce! After spending more time than expected looking for a spot, our first priority was lunch. We wanted to try someplace new and decided on Agricola. The hip farm-to-table eatery boasts an open kitchen serving meals made with locally sourced ingredients. We arrived in time to sample the brunch menu. With many tempting options to choose from, we split the Great Road Farm quiche and Max’s smoked salmon. The quiche had a perfectly baked crust, and the filling was full of fresh vegetables and creamy eggs. It came with a side of hand-cut fries and Agricola’s own beet ketchup. The tasty smoked salmon came on a poppy seed bagel with Philadelphia cream cheese, pickled red onions and capers. Everything was so delicious, we cleaned our plates. Stuffed, we decided to walk around and enjoy the beautiful weather. Princeton is the perfect place for a leisurely stroll. We did some window shopping, checking out the many stores along Nassau Street and Palmer Square. A trip to Princeton isn’t complete without a stop at the Princeton Record Exchange. This independent record store sells and buys new and used CDs, DVDs and records at very reasonable prices. With more than 140,000 titles to choose from, it’s very easy to spend a lot of time (and money) here — and we did both.
