I’m sick of snow. I know some of you may disagree, but after four years in Syracuse and a ton of winter weather last winter and thus far this winter, I’d like a winter free of the white, fluffy stuff. I was watching the news this morning and learned that, so far this winter, the Philadelphia area has received more than 30 inches of snow. The average for this time of year is about 13–17 inches, so we are beyond the norm with at least eight more weeks of winter ahead. Last year, we had 70-some inches — way below a normal winter in Syracuse, but it feels like a ton! I think it feels like so much more snow because major snowfalls were barely noticeable in Syracuse. It snows all the time there and the city is adept at handling massive snowfalls. I can barely remember a day spent snowed-in or a drive spent navigating unplowed roads. And we never, ever had a snow day — even when the newscasters were warning that too much time spent outside would result in frostbite. Now, snow just seems like such a nuisance.
