Shenandoah National Park in Virginia is a treasure trove for hiking and camping enthusiasts. With trails for all levels of experience, panoramic views and rustic cabin accommodations, this park proves to be a worthy trip for nature lovers. Shenandoah reaches its peak season in the fall, with visitors flocking from all over for the breathtaking views and changing leaves. Recently, after my own trip in the fall, I learned the summer months are a well-kept secret and should not be overlooked. With the same amazing views and less-crowded trails, hikers can take in the summer sunsets over the wildflower fields and enjoy the sun beaming through the trees. The summer is simply a stunning time to visit Shenandoah and an excuse for me to head back and see the famous caverns I missed on my first visit. The Shenandoah caverns have been attracting tourists from all over the country since 1922, and from what I can tell, seeing them is a good excuse for another weekend trip. — Angelique Platas, assistant sales and marketing coordinator
