As regular readers, you know I am just coming off a seven-day cruise on the Navigator of the Seas. Saturday night we whooped it up in New Orleans with a carriage tour followed by brunch at the world-famous Brennan’s in the French Quarter. The place is abuzz as the Super Bowl is here next week and Mardi Gras festivities are going on at the same time. Parades and parties are the word of the day in the Big Easy. In the evening, we picked up a few Mardi Gras masks and walked on Bourbon Street to see all the fun. Later, we had dinner at Revolution and had a fantastic meal. I started off with a trio of fish, including smoked salmon in lemon, tuna and seafood salad. This was followed by a veal chop and finished with a coconut cake dessert. I also tried their grapefruit and rosemary sorbet, which was superb and unique.



This is not a place for those on a budget; some entrées are regularly priced at $45 and up, and there is a caviar appetizer for $200.  



There are so many fun things going on, and this will continue past next Super Bowl Sunday. Check out the Mardi Gras parade schedule. I was sad we have to leave early and miss Sunday’s Dog Parade!
