Upon reading an advertorial in our recent issue about great places to work and play in Italy, it reminded me of the time I visited the country with my family when I was younger. Of course, I was not traveling for business at the time, but it was great to read about the various locations and think back to my time there.

We spent a week in Italy, as it was only one stop on our European vacation. We did indeed go to Milan, which was beautiful, but we also made a point to stop in Rome, Pompeii and Florence.
My favorite location was Pompeii, even though it was quite dusty and barren. It was a phenomenal experience to be able to walk in an area where time has essentially stood still since the disaster. And on a side note, I got lost in Pompeii but didn’t really know I was lost!
I also enjoyed the food and culture, and it was great I was able to do it all with the ones I love.
The story of getting lost in Pompeii will have to wait for another day.
