As you know, <ital>GT<end> boasts an extensive network of well-traveled contributors who share their experiences with our readers on a monthly basis through our print magazine and websites. As happens often, one of the articles they produce inspires a bit of wanderlust in me as I edit. Luckily, as happened in late April, one such article inspired wanderlust in my own backyard!

Debra Bokur wrote about an exhibit at the Michener Art Museum, located in my hometown of Doylestown, Pa. I’ve been to the museum several times, including for special exhibits on Princess Grace of Monaco and Jim Henson, and after reading Debra’s article, I knew a return visit was in order. Last Sunday I saw the Charles Sheeler exhibit, which included photographs, fashion and film to tell the story of the artist’s work. The photos from Vogue and Vanity Fair from the 1920s enthralled me!

The James A. Michener Art Museum opened in 1988, named for the town’s most famous son, Pultizer Prize-winning author James Michener. He was a lifelong supporter of the arts, and his legacy lives on in Bucks County!
