Fall Activities

by Fiona Stewart

Oct 27, 2025

This October I’ve been severely lacking in fall activities, so I was determined to go out and enjoy my weekend. I started off strong with a visit to Pie Lady Café on Moorestown, New Jersey’s, Main Street; I had to try the seasonal pumpkin soup topped with coconut espuma (coconut cream, salt and honey) and pepitas. It was everything I wanted from a fall soup: warm and comforting without being too sweet. I always add an excessive amount of black pepper to my soup, as seasoning is at the discretion of the eater. The bowl had me absolutely stuffed, and I will die on the hill that soup is a meal. After, I headed to the bakery side to get a look at the day’s scone flavors. Blueberry lemon and butterscotch are cult classics that keep patrons coming back time and time again. That day I wasn’t feeling any of the scone flavors, but I did notice a lemon meringue pie calling my name. It’s an unusual flavor for the shop and usually only available if you make a special order ahead of time. The pie shop is known for its Thanksgiving pre-order list filling up the week it opens for good reason! Last year I was lucky enough to get on the list and order the chocolate pecan pie.bowling

Later in the day, my friends and I wanted to get together for an activity. Most of the time we gather around a table of food, but we wanted to change it up from our go-to spots. Laurel Lanes is our local bowling alley, and we knew it was going to be a great night. Starting off by changing into our super-adorable bowling shoes (joking!), we then made our way over to our assigned lane. It was surprisingly packed, and I could not find a ball light enough for my wrists (this will come up again later). The night was filled with laughter and catching up on life things with my friends. I have never been a particularly good bowler, known for always breaking a nail, but I’ll never turn down the opportunity to go. It was the perfect way to kill a few hours with my friends on a Saturday night. I did, unfortunately, end up spraining my wrist because I couldn’t find a ball that accommodated my strength. Back in action and fully recovered this week, I’m looking forward to the next time I can hit the lanes.bowling

Nature and Nordic Culture Ensure a Perfect Pace for Exploring Stockholm

Crowned the “Capital of Scandinavia,” Stockholm stands at the epicenter of modern Nordic movements that — much like their Viking forebears — have swept across the globe. From art to design to cuisine, the Swedish city entices business and leisure travelers alike. Also fitting for its Viking history: the capital’s waterfront positioning, situated across 14 islands where Lake Mälaren meets the Baltic Sea. For a country that infamously sees little sunshine in the winter months, outdoor pursuits remain popular year-round, from hiking to sailing to ice-skating.
