On a recent weekend trip to Baltimore, I had the pleasure of visiting some of the city’s popular coffee establishments, including Woodberry Kitchen, Artifact Coffee and Spro. My favorite of the cafés was LAMILL, a unique, new coffee shop in Four Seasons Hotel Baltimore, situated at the edge of the city’s Harbor East waterfront.

The European-inspired café offers a variety of specialty beverages, including coffee and espresso drinks roasted by LAMILL Coffee in California. Founded by CEO Craig Min in 1998, the coffee company buys its beans from small farms in Latin America and uses an array of elegant coffeemakers and innovative brew techniques. In addition to serving unique blends, the shop also offers an assortment of sandwiches and pastries, including fresh beignets with a variety of sauces.

On the chilly Sunday morning I visited the property, I opted for a mint mocha to warm me up, while my friend ordered an apple pie chai. I nibbled on delicious macarons and sipped the strong, hot coffee, decorated with a unique foam design, and enjoyed its creaminess and subtle mint flavor while taking in water views of the historic Inner Harbor from a spot at the shop’s communal table. The café’s warm atmosphere, complete with dark wood and unique lighting, was the perfect setting for a relaxing Sunday morning.

The space is connected to two other restaurants — Wit & Wisdom and PABU — in the rear lobby of the Four Seasons. Visitors don’t have to be guests of the beautiful hotel to enjoy a brew and beautiful views. If you’re visiting Baltimore, be sure to pop into LAMILL for a caffeine fix and unique treat.
