I attended the annual Global Business Travel Association convention in San Diego this week, and while there, I had the opportunity to both learn more about Blacklane and try the service.

The focused ride company offers chauffeured, black-car service in 250 cities worldwide, ensuring quality and safety in each and every market. In exciting news out of the convention, Blacklane recently launched its Green Class in 20 cities and 13 countries, offering transfers in eco-friendly, battery-operated cars like Teslas. The program hopes to expand, based on the availability of the cars in the various markets.

I was also intrigued to learn the company went carbon neutral in 2018, using an outside company to calculate its footprint and offset costs.

Yesterday, upon departure from the city, associate editor Angelique Platas and I enjoyed Blacklane pick-up service to the airport. Scheduled for 8:30 a.m., I received a text from our driver at 8:15 a.m. that he was downstairs whenever we were ready. I was eager to gain a few extra minutes at the airport. We were picked up in a Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

Our driver was friendly and talkative, offering information on San Diego and asking about our business. He’d even visited our website beforehand.

It was only a short, three-mile ride from our hotel to the airport, but the friendly, reliable service we experienced ensured I’d consider using Blacklane for a future airport transfer.
