Do you take time to shop at the the duty-free shops in the airport before an international flight? I find these stores have the best buys and there is always that one souvenir shop with all the best souvenirs that the country has to offer in one place. As a tourist, I suppose I would choose to shop in the city, but as a business traveler with limited time, it’s worth planning to arrive at the airport a few minutes early to fulfill any of those gift promises I’ve made to friends and family. Or, realistically, I hope to find a good deal on that special item I’ve been wanting to buy for myself. I’ve found the best prices for global merchandise are at Dubai Duty Free and Incheon International Airport (their duty-free shopping area is now called AirStar Avenue). I also love shopping in Narita’s terminals, as they have such unique gifts and great items only found in Japan. On your next international flight, check the airport for good deals.
