Who knows where this economic crisis is going? Only 40 days away from selecting a new leader for our country and steps away from a possible $700 billion bailout, Americans are standing on the brink of an economic collapse or a very large, costly band-aid. If a bipartisan bill is passed for this quick fix we are told is the only answer, easy times will not be ahead for taxpayers (are we really going to get this money back?). I am not good at cutting back expenses – come on, I live in New York! I did, however, find a small answer to a looming dilemma this morning. Cheap wine! Why not wallow our financial crises in the bottom of a bottle? On New York Times Online, Eric Asimov elaborates in his wine column on “Modest Luxuries for Lean Times”. According to Asimov, the country is France and the best ratio of quality and value is $10 to $20. Now I can afford that! Less than $10 may sound more appetizing to those of you on a limited budget, but be reminded that less than $10 means mass production and less excitement in your glass.
