Happy St. Patrick’s Day, GT readers! Celebrations for the Irish holiday have been underway for weeks in different parts of the country. In addition to indulging in Irish food and drinks, there are still chances to observe this popular holiday. The annual New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade always takes place on March 17, unless the holiday falls on a Sunday, in which case it’s held the day before to observe the Sunday Sabbath. While Chicago’s annual parade takes place the Saturday before St. Patrick’s Day, visitors can still enjoy one of the city’s most popular attractions on the holiday. Each year the Chicago River is dyed green; the bright color lasts through the holiday. Have a truly authentic experience in Dublin.
