Bachelorette Weekend in Annapolis

by Mary Melnick

May 23, 2021

Last weekend my friends and I went to Annapolis, Maryland, to celebrate our friend’s bachelorette weekend. We are a group of laidback ladies, so we didn’t want to do anything too crazy, especially with COVID-19 restrictions still lurking. When we first got down there, we unpacked, settled and then started our day. We decided to just hang out at the house, play games and have a BBQ the first night, so we weren’t rushing to go anywhere.

Saturday was our day to explore. We had a boat ride planned in the afternoon, but due a forecast of storms in the afternoon, the boat captain called to see if we wanted to switch our time to the morning. We got up early, packed our cooler with snacks and drinks and set off towards the bay.

We went on a pontoon boat, so there was plenty of room for our coolers and the nine of us. Our captain was our age, so we got along with him very well. He drove us around to different inlets, showed us the big houses on the water – some famous people even have houses there. While sailing around, we just sat back, relaxed, talked and listened to some music.

Around lunch time we started getting a little hungry, so the captain took us to a local restaurant on the water. We ordered food and drinks to go so we wouldn’t miss any more of our boat time. We set back out on the water and enjoyed the rest of the time — our captain even let us stay on the boat an extra half hour.

If you ever are ever in Annapolis, Maryland, I highly recommend taking a boat ride; it was the highlight of everyone’s trip!

Williamsburg Inn Review

You don’t have to love brass chandeliers or brocade to appreciate what Williamsburg Inn does best: delivering a polished, unpretentious stay amid America’s most iconic living history museum. This is where you check in for traditional luxury without feeling like you’re trapped in a time capsule. The Queen stayed here (twice), and so did Eisenhower, but you’re not here to make history. You’re here to enjoy it, on your own terms.
