I just returned from a crazy trip around the world flying JFK-Seoul-Weihai-Seoul-Abu Dhabi-Dubai-Qatar-Dubai-Abu Dhabi-JFK. As soon as I landed at JFK, I took a car to attend my mother’s birthday party — just a few hours late to the cheers of all my siblings and family. My trip consisted of lots of early and late flights, a few rounds of golf (ending the trip with a round at the Address Hotel Montgomerie Golf Course) and a stay at the new Jumeirah Etihad Towers Hotel the night before my departure.There are so many opportunities for the U.S. traveler in every place I visited — they are must-go destinations in 2012. It is good to be home, and at the same time, I look forward to my upcoming trip to Europe!
I flew Asiana Airlines’ award-winning service, as well as Etihad Airways’ first and business class. I stayed at the lovely Lotte Hotel in downtown Seoul and played golf at Weihai Point golf course in the northeastern Shandong province. I enjoyed the Desert Palm Resort in Dubai and even took a day flight to Doha on Qatar Airways. There was nothing like watching polo off the cocktail lounge at the Desert Palm Resort and seeing good friends in Dubai. I made some purchases at Dubai Duty Free (GT Award winner), Abu Dhabi Duty Free and Incheon. I visited the Louis Vuitton shop at Incheon, where sales are topping $150,000 a day, mainly from the Chinese.
