Last week, I represented the GT team at an event sponsored by The Boeing Company and Lufthansa at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to celebrate the inaugural flight of the brand-new Lufthansa Boeing 747-8. This amazing aircraft will be the first 747-8 Lufthansa brings to the West Coast, giving 362 passageners a great gift and new experience when traveling into Europe. The award-winning aircraft (it again won best aircraft by our readers in the 2012 GT Tested Awards) has many advantages for both airline cost and passenger comfort, including 15 percent lower carbon emissions, 30 percent quieter and the new Lufthansa Business Class.

The first-class cabin is located in the nose of the aircraft, giving perfect views for each of the eight passengers. The class features personal service and a beautiful rose on each seat. The Business Class seats are located both on the bottom level and the top level, which is exclusively a single-aisle business-class section. The seats are turned slightly toward one another, giving a larger flat surface space between the headboards and options to store personal items like books, drinks and more. The color scheme of royal blue and white has a calming effect; and accompanied with the fully lie-flat seats, it will be an easy flight to sleep on.

It looks like Boeing has done it again, putting me in awe with their intuitive knowledge of passenger needs and wants I did not even know I needed or wanted yet. Their Lufthansa 747-8 is on my checklist to fly!
