Best Hotel Gyms in the United States

In the not-so-distant past, hotel gyms offered few services for fitness enthusiasts. Guests often found themselves in run-down fitness centers. In those situations, the lack of equipment provided to enjoy a workout meant guests were relegated to lunges in the hallway, running up and down the stairs or creating a mini-gym in rooms.

Well, this is a new era in hotel fitness. In recent years, hotels listened to the demands of fitness-minded travelers and upped their fitness offerings. While some fitness centers are nice, some hotels pull out all the stops, like partnering with fitness brands to help guests stay fit and healthy.

Don’t sweat it fit travelers — take a look at some of the best hotel gyms in the United States.

Le Parker Meridien

This Midtown hotel offers guests 15,000 square feet of workout facilities and partners with Gravity, a brand that aims to be tough and luxurious, functional and design forward. The gym has more than 20,000 pounds to lift, push and move; top-notch trainers; and a busy schedule of classes six days a week ranging from Body Shred Bootcamp to CrossFit-inspired Cross X. The hotel’s signature offering is the Quickie, a 30-minute, full-body workout on a nine-machine circuit. Upstairs, the rooftop pool offers views of Central Park.

W San Francisco

Guests staying at this San Francisco hotel will feel like they walked into a metropolitan nightclub when entering FIT Gym. The futuristic setting features color-changing light fixtures in the evening for a club-like atmosphere, while natural light streams in during the day from the skylight. The gym features treadmills, bikes and other cardio machines set up around the perimeter of the gym, along with modern furnishings like a chaise and a chic, self-serve juice bar. The fancy gym lounge is open 24 hours, so you can enjoy a late-night sweat session.

The EPIC Miami

Transition from swimsuits to sit ups at Kimpton’s EPIC Miami. Despite being in the business-centric Downtown district, the gym has all the style of South Beach without the crowds. The gym, an exhale spa outpost, boasts top-notch workouts with the best city views. Located on a pool terrace off of the hotel’s 16th floor, you’ll find all the aerobic and strength-training equipment you’ve ever needed. The club offers signature classes for endorphin-releasing pleasure like Core Fusion Extreme, barre and Vinyasa Flow Fusion class.

Hotel Bellevue

A running track circles the mezzanine around the full-size basketball court in this Seattle hotel, but that’s just the beginning. The 200,000-square-foot mega-gym at the Hotel Bellevue is an urban retreat just 20 minutes from central Seattle. Guests can choose from four weight and cardio rooms, a Pilates studio with reformers and cadillacs, three swimming pools, 10 indoor and outdoor tennis courts, various classes and open-play games of basketball, pickleball and badminton.
