Hainan Airlines subsidiary Beijing Capital Airlines launched a non-stop service between London (LHR) and Qingdao (TAO) Nov. 17.
The new Airbus A330 twin-aisle wide-body aircraft operates the route twice a week on Monday and Friday.
This marks the second Qingdao service launched this fall following the airline’s Sydney (SYD)–Qingdao route launched Oct. 30.
Currently, passengers flying from Qingdao to London need to transfer in Beijing (PEK), Shanghai (PVG), Guangzhou (CAN) or Hong Kong (HKG). The new service is the first non-stop flight between the two cities, saving passengers time in transit and eliminating the need to switch aircraft.
The airline will also launch new European service, including Copenhagen (CPH) and Helsinki (HEL), in 2018. Both flights will operate three times weekly beginning March 27, and May 30, 2018, respectively.
