Avani Hotels announced a new safety and hygiene program recently, known as AvaniSHIELD. Now, as travel restrictions gradually ease, the brand is piloting an extension of the program to cover its meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions business at Avani properties.

The following guidelines will be implemented at Avani hotels with MICE facilities: adjusting maximum capacity to facilitate social distancing; space-out seating for all types of meeting room set-ups; mandatory temperate checks for contractors, suppliers and third-party partners, who will also be required to wear face masks and gloves; stationary will be disinfected with an ultraviolet-C device and stationary displays will be replaced with an upon request service; a potent EcoLab solution, meeting EPA standards, will be used to disinfect ballrooms and meeting rooms; food and beverage will be prepared in the back of the house with team members wearing mask and gloves; and an AvaniSHIELD agent will oversee implementation of all protocols.
