The Autograph Collection, Marriott International’s portfolio of upscale independent hotels, announced the addition of its 50th property — Hotel Punta Islita in Costa Rica. Located on 85 acres along the Nicoya Peninsula in the southwestern part of Guanacaste province, Hotel Punta Islita features 57 guestrooms boasting views of the Pacific coastline, two swimming pools, a nine-hole golf course, a spa, two restaurants, a secluded beach with a beach club, a private landing strip for small commuter aircraft and meeting and event space. The hotel specializes in sustainable tourism and offers guests programs on reforestation, animal protection and water conservation. In less than three years, Marriott’s Autograph Collection welcomed 50 hotels in 13 countries. “Through championing independence and welcoming extraordinary hotel experiences like Hotel Punta Islita, Autograph remains one of the fastest growing independent hotel collections in the industry,” said Arne Sorenson, president and CEO of Marriott International.
