Auckland is set to be on the receiving end of 4,000 new hotel rooms thanks to a thriving visitor economy.
Recent reports from the Auckland hospitality industry indicate the next five years could be large growth years. Over the next five years, thousands of hotel rooms look to open in the region.
According to a news release from Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development, Auckland is projected to welcome more than 4 million visitors every year by 2025. The visitors will help to create a $13.9 billion visitor economy in Auckland.
“We are delighted to see some of the world’s leading hotel brands opening their doors in Auckland to cater for the influx of delegate numbers we are expecting to see from 2020 onwards with the opening of the New Zealand International Convention Centre,” said Anna Hayward, head, Auckland Convention Bureau.
Properties coming to the region include Novotel Auckland City, Park Hyatt and InterContinental Auckland.
