According to a survey by Marriott Hotels, American business travelers multitask more than those from the United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, China, Australia, Colombia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Americans claim to multitask the most, while Chinese business travelers say they multitask the least.

Seventy-one percent of all survey respondents said trying to complete everything on their list while traveling for work was counterproductive, as the to-do list kept them from the most important tasks. Similarly, 83 percent of respondents believe not having time during the day to clear their mind negatively impacts creativity, while 81 percent believe this negatively impacts their ability to find inspiration.

More than half of all respondents said if they had 15 extra minutes per day, they would use it to clear their minds and simply do nothing.
