Airplane food is about to reach new heights: American Airlines is following the path traveled by other airlines by teaming with celebrity chefs to promote a new in-flight menu for premium passengers. American recruited the assistance of four culinary giants to revamp the menu on both domestic and international flights. The chefs and stars of the culinary worked who have come together to take on this massive project include chef and Chopped judge Maneet Chauhan, up-and-coming Hawaiian chef Sam Choy, Dallas-based Italian food specialist Julian Barsotti and chef Mark Sargeant from the United Kingdom. American´s new food menus will highlight local and seasonal ingredients based on the passengers´ destinations as well as other locations to and from where American flies. Meatless options will expand beyond the traditional pasta options to feature vegetarian meatballs and spaghetti squash. As airlines and world-class chefs join forces to conceive a new level of eating at 35,000 feet, dining in the sky will evolve from a drab ordeal to an anticipatory event.
