American Airlines is teaming up with the largest carrier in Brazil, GOL Airlines, to offer American travelers more options for Latin American travel.
The agreement gives American Airlines passengers access to 20 new destinations in Latin America. In addition to the agreement, American is increasing its Miami (MIA)–Rio de Janeiro (GIG) service to twice weekly.
The agreement gives Americans new access to destinations not previously served by American, including Paraguay (ASU). Other new destinations include São Paulo (GRU), Brasilia (BSB) and Fortaleza (FOR). Fifty-three new flights come into the fold following approval from American and Brazilian regulatory authorities.
“As two of the leading airlines in Brazil and the U.S., GOL and American Airlines will offer the best experience for customers on the largest number of flights and destinations in the Americas,” said Paulo Kakinoff, CEO, GOL.
To make getting to Miami and taking advantage of the new agreement easier, American is also introducing new routes to Miami from all over the country. Nashville (BNA), Boston (BOS), Houston (IAH) and more are getting new service to Miami from American Airlines.
