AmaWaterways announced a new partnership with Ancestry, allowing guests to discover details of their specific family history while on a river cruise. The Ancestry Experience offer provides pre-cruise private consultation, family history research, onboard presentations and curated excursions, accompanied by an expert genealogist throughout the cruise.

The first cruise in the series, Heritage on the River: Your Personalized Ancestry Experience, departs July 30, 2022, on AmaStella, embarking in Amsterdam for seven nights along the Rhine, stopping in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Switzerland. Each guest is matched with an expert from AncestryProGenealogists, who conduct a one-hour welcome call and then a five-hour consultation and research phase. Onboard, a genealogist offers presentations and explains the history behind the different regions. Each guest also receives a private onboard consultation to review their own family tree, as well as the opportunity for an Ancestry-specific group excursion with the genealogist.
