It’s safe to say 2020 has been a wild ride. As a result, Amangiri, in Canyon Point, Utah, developed a solution to usher in a more peaceful 2021: a Restorative Sleep Retreat, Dec. 16–19.
The program combines a science-based approach developed by certified Sleep Specialist Dr. Michael Breus with the innovation in wellness and a secluded setting of Amangiri. Dr. Breus conducts a pre-arrival assessment and one-on-one interview with each guest. Subsequently, each guest is assigned a Chrono-type, or a genetically pre-determined sleep schedule. For example, guest Chrono-type options are either Bear, Lion, Wolf or Dolphin.
The experience then begins with a dinner featuring sleep-friendly ingredients. The following days include a personalized schedule presented each morning.
Activities and experiences include a personalized, practitioner-led wake-up routine; a 60-minute morning yoga class; and therapeutic cold-water plunges. Informative sessions and lectures are also available. The goal is to offer mental and emotional support alongside holistic spa therapies to support a better night of sleep.

Branded residences may seem new, but the first official hotel-branded residence actually dates back to 1927 when Sherry-Netherland Hotel in New York City offered permanent residential apartments with hotel amenities and services.
