Los Angeles (LAX) to Tokyo (HND) to Seoul (GMP)

On the Ground: I breezed through LAX check-in and security for my red-eye flight to Seoul’s Gimpo International Airport. ANA attendants were friendly and efficient. However, I did not receive a lounge pass, even though I was flying business class.

Pre-Flight: The business-class cabin was comfortable. I settled in and enjoyed a glass of white wine before our delayed departure to Haneda. The flight attendants seemed detail-oriented and did a great job remembering my requests.

In-Flight: The quarters made for a relaxing overnight flight with the fully flat seats. Every seat has aisle access, which I always prefer. A large side table features a convenient reading light, and another large table includes a PC power port, helpful for those who want to work. The cabin boasts plenty of storage space. The breakfast and dinner menus offer variety, including Japanese, international and local cuisine. Palatable for any taste bud!

The Experience: I had a lovely experience on board All Nippon Airways. The service was wonderful, and the business-class cabin was comfortable and modern.

Sun, Sea, Cliffs and Bridges Beckon on the Pacific Coast Highway

On one side, waves breathe in and out across wide stretches of sand or explode against jagged rocks, sending spray shooting into the air. On the other side, the scenery changes: Cliffs rise like walls, vineyards clip past in neat rows, pine trees line the road. Between these, cities give way to small communities with art galleries, local restaurants and shops selling beachwear.
