New Uniforms for Alaska Airlines Employees
In January, Seattle-based Alaska Airlines celebrated two milestones: On Jan. 11, Alaska and Virgin America — the airline Alaska acquired for $2.6 billion in December 2016 — began operating under a single operating certificate. And, on Jan. 18, Alaska Airlines and Seattle fashion designer Luly Yang debuted a new custom-designed uniform collection of more than 90 garments and accessories at a fashion show inside the airline’s hangar at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The collection is described as “West Coast-inspired” and many of the features and design touches reflect input from many of the airline’s 19,000 employees.

New Amenities for British Airways, EVA Air
Several airlines, including British Airways and EVA Air, kicked off 2018 by announcing upgraded amenities for passengers. British Airways economy travelers now receive perks that include a four-course meal, ice cream and complimentary alcoholic drinks. (Details here.) EVA Air is offering new and upgraded amenities for passengers in all cabins, including new pajamas by London-based designer label APUJAN for Royal Laurel and Premium Laurel Class passengers. EVA Air also introduced a new in-flight safety video that incorporates more than five minutes of modern dance, 3D projection and motion-capture technology. See what that looks like here.
