Who doesn’t love a good, long soak — especially in a beautiful setting? Global wellness brand AIRE Ancient Baths offers that and so much more. Drawing from ancient thermal bathing traditions of “taking the waters” once practiced regularly in parts of the world including Rome, Greece and the Ottoman Empire, AIRE provides a serene haven within each city where luxurious wellness rituals can be relished and enjoyed.
There are three U.S. locations: Chicago, a new property in New York’s Upper East Side and the recently reopened and expanded Tribeca address. On the Upper East Side, guests can enjoy the thermal baths on their own, or add an indulgent therapy such as the Signature Monet Experience, inspired by artist Claude Monet’s famous Water Lilies. The treatment takes place in a restored Museum of Modern Art warehouse, and begins with a 30-minute exfoliation with rose crystals and an argan shell scrub while you relax in a warm marble bed. Afterwards, there’s a seaweed body wrap, during which a therapist uses an artist’s brush to further the Monet connection. This treatment also includes a honey hair mask, floral aromatherapy, a 60-minute full-body massage, and a serving of virgin sparkling rosé wine and macarons.
This Upper East Side location has six baths, including The Caldarium hot bath at 104 degrees Fahrenheit, two warm Tepidarium baths at 97 degrees Fahrenheit, the Frigidarium ice bath at 50 degrees Fahrenheit and the Balneum jet bath. This property also features a sensational suspended glass-walled Flotarium salt bath that gives the illusion of hovering between two floors while imparting an ethereal blue glow.
The Chicago baths are housed in a restored 1902 factory in River West, where original exposed brick, wood beams and industrial columns create an unforgettable sense of place. Here, guests can book the Orange Garden experience, with time in the thermal baths, a 35-minute massage with AIRE’s Signature Orange Garden oil, a 25-minute face massage with Gua Sha, a cooking hydrogel face mask and a scalp massage.
In Tribeca, AIRE Ancient Baths can be found in a restored 1883 textile factory. This space features a Tepidarium beneath a skylight, and 16,000 square feet of candlelit serenity. Here, you can choose The Signature Wine Experience (can also be booked for two people). After relaxing in the thermal baths, guests enjoy a 15-minute cranial massage with a honey hair mask and a private, 30-minute red wine bath to absorb the rich antioxidant properties of Spanish Ribera del Duero red grapes. Afterwards, there’s an hour-long full-body massage with grapeseed oil and a special tasting featuring a selection of cheeses.
AIRE Ancient Baths can also be found in Toronto, London, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Sevilla, Almeria and Vallromanes.

Nov 15, 2025Master the Meandering County Louth Golf Club Along the Irish Sea
Those in the know refer simply to County Louth Golf Club as Baltray, but it can be quite confusing, as the tee marker logo reads “Baltray Links” and the scorecard logo says “County Louth Golf Club.” A rose by any other name, I guess? The location of the course proves prime for American golfers who collect courses they have played, like seashells on the beach. Baltray lies just 45 minutes from Dublin Airport and a mere 75 minutes from Belfast Airport ... maybe quicker if you have a heavy foot.
