Staying comfortable and relaxed in-flight is crucial for business-class passengers, and airberlin is enhancing the premium passenger’s experience with the introduction of new amenity kits, created in collaboration with world-famous designer Wolfgang Joop’s lifestyle label Wunderkind.
The silver-gray leatherette bags were designed by Wunderkind exclusively for airberlin, and contain a number of the brand’s signature amenities, including lip balm and facial moisturizer. Other included comfort items are a sleeping mask, a toothbrush and socks.
The airline also teamed up with Berlin’s oldest cocktail creator MAMPE to bring their legacy cocktails on board for long-haul, business-class passengers. Three cocktails are available and mixed in front of travelers; the Berlin Breeze cocktail, a combination of apricot and orange liquor with grapefruit lemonade and mint, is also sold in cans on medium-haul flights for €4. The other cocktails are creatively titled: Plane of Ice (Fliejer uff Eis) and Sparkly Plane (Fliejerprickel).
Airberlin’s new business-class cabin offers an exclusive level of comfort. Its 19 fully-flat seats boast more privacy and direct aisle access. The high-resolution, 15-inch personal entertainment monitors, operated via an easy-to-use remote control and touchscreen, offer more than 200 hours of films, TV series, documentaries, games and music. The gourmet menus consist of several courses, with the entrees curated by one of Germany’s most famous restaurants, Sansibar. Other premium perks include a second item of cabin baggage; lounges around the world; double the miles flown for topbonus program members; priority status and boarding; and private chauffeur service on select routings.
A special Discover Europe special promotion is valid through Sept. 21. Travelers can book round-trip flights to Europe from $599 including all fees and taxes, from airberlin’s U.S. gateways of Chicago, Fort Myers, Miami and New York. Flights are available from Nov. 1 through March 18, 2016.
