Air Canada begins flights between Toronto (YYZ) and Mumbai (BOM) next year. A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner services the three-time weekly route, beginning July 1.
The route is the third offered by the airline to India on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, including a seasonal service between Vancouver (YVR) and Delhi (DEL) starting Oct. 20. The Toronto–Mumbai service operates daily and offers 30 business-class suites, 21 premium-economy seats and 247 economy-class seats.
“Air Canada is pleased to offer customers this new, non-stop route between Toronto and Mumbai. This is Air Canada’s third route to India after Toronto–Delhi service that began last fall and our new seasonal Vancouver–Delhi service. … This will be the only non-stop service between Canada and Mumbai and with it Air Canada now offers the best coverage of any carrier operating in the Canada-India market,” said Benjamin Smith, president, passenger airlines, Air Canada.
The flights depart Toronto at 9:35 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, arriving in India at 9:30 p.m., the next day. Return flights depart at 11:55 p.m., arriving at 5:35 a.m., the next day. Flights are available for purchase now.
“The Canada–India corridor offers tremendous economic opportunities and our organization is working to promote trade and commerce between our two countries. Air linkages are essential to this, so having a non-stop flight between Canada’s and India’s financial and business centers should serve as a further catalyst to this rapidly developing trade relationship,” said Gary Comerford, president and CEO, Canada-India Business Council.
